Project Management
I’ve been contemplating what career path to take that will benefit from my work experience and still requires a certain amount of creativity. As you will see throughout my site, I do not lack the ability to think outside the box; however, I can get lost if there isn’t a larger box outside of that box to keep me within some sort parameter. Project management is where I’ve been attacking on my job hunt because it encompasses a majority of my post-college experiences and will allow me to concoct innovative solutions to lower project cost, I get to work with people, and I’ll be able to utilize the many contacts I’ve gained over the years in the business. Most of my past experience in the construction industry had put me in leadership roles where scheduling and efficiency has been top priority, so project or construction management is lookin’ like a good fit. If any of you out there in virtual-land can point me in the right direction with a contact or two please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks!
Apparently you can’t get paid for just being awesome so I’ve been coming up with fun and exciting ways to put some green in my pocket. My newest endeavor is working part-time for LivingSocial Adventures. I’m an event coordinator and photographer for the Philadelphia branch and couldn’t be enjoying myself more! I actually get paid to go on AWESOME trips and take photos. I’ve only been on two trips thus far but I’m having a blast. So far I’ve done Bouldering and Brews which entailed a trip to the Philadelphia Rock Gym and a tour of the Sly Fox Brewery. I just got back from Paintball, Brews and BBQ this weekend where we play paintball at Skirmish, PA and then go on brew tour at Yards Brewery in Philadelphia.
If you sign-up for LivingSocial’s mailing list they will send you out local deals, however, if you want the adventures you’re going to have to wait a little bit as they fashion a mailing list from their new site. Click the link above and you can learn more.
I will be posting all of the photos i take for the trips on my photography facebook page. “Like” my page and visit at your leisure!

I’ve picked up an internship along the way to finding full-time employment so I thought it would be good to talk about it a little bit. Profitable Pathways to Sustainability is a non-profit organization that operates as a subsidiary to the Center for Environmental Policy. Our mission statement is “to create positive regional change by convening area businesses that demonstrate leadership in sustainability to collectively highlight and promote the practice of considering people and the environment, along with profitability, in business planning and decision making.”
Although that may be a mouthful it’s a very beneficial endeavor for me because I get to be in contact with very inspiring and important people in the Philadelphia Region. I have a wide range of responsibilities and have enjoyed the opportunity thus far. My major project at the moment is initiating their social media marketing strategy.

Greetings!
I decided to make this blog after I finished rehabilitating an 18th century carriage house in the heart of Philadelphia. This project and my many areas or expertise are highlighted throughout the site. If you’ll take the time to browse through the tabs to the left of the page (just under my handsome mug), you will be exploring the proud attributes that make me who I am. Every tab, excluding the resume tab, will have a link back to this page titled: Gavin DiRusso (home). Some of the pages I made have multiple links so take some time and let me know what you think. If you are a potential employer looking for a diverse, skilled, and competent addition to your team then please look through the site at your leisure, but make sure you stop at my “Resume” page to see the list of employers who have helped me along the way. I hope you all find enjoyment from my site whether your visit is for business or pleasure!
Sincerely,
-g
